When we got Lilly, she was already potty trained, knew how to sit, very laid back, and overall a nice, sweet, QUIET dog. Then came Lola... the one you even said reminded you of Brodee! We've had her for about 6 months, she's now only 8 months old. Her hyperness has calmed, but only very little. All we have to do is walk by her and she reaches out to "bite" us. She hasn't been very destructive, I think its because Lilly has "taught" her what is acceptable to play with. Everytime I have a question or get fed up with her I get reminded that she is just a puppy and SHOULD grow out of it! I completely jive with you on the comparison thoughts to having children!!! I don't really have advice to give except crate him and keep stuff out of his reach. You might also talk to the vet's office. Vader nibbled when he was a puppy but grew out of nibbling on us. He has his Fuzzy Buddy now and when the mood hits he'll grab that and just nibble away.
