DIY Farmhouse Table

I have been wanting a farmhouse table for a while. They cost a lot of money if you just buy them. Life in general is expensive and life with 3 small kids is not delicate by nature so, an inexpensive DIY version of a farmhouse table will do for now. Unfortunately, we started this project before we sold our house and were in between houses before moving into a rental. I found a table and 6 chairs on Craigslist for $75.

We used the legs of the table. Brandon made a new top out of 7 foot 1x8's and reinforced the bottom.

I took on the chair project! Before...

After...

Brandon continued to work on the top after we got into the rental...

I spray painted the legs and base (same color as the chairs)

And VOILA....

We have a fun dining room to be proud of but not too anxious about our family using and enjoying. Oh and YES, I scotch guarded the heck outta the chair cushions! Once we move into a house with a bigger dining room I may add a bench to one side and put a chair on either end. The table will comfortably seat 8. We are so proud of this project.
