They determined it was a cavity and said it was fine to wait the week for an appointment to fix.
I have a really hard time with taking the kids for procedures at the dentist. I've done MRI's, tubes surgery , swallow studies, EEG, EKG, and MORE between the 3 kids. I've never felt more anxious than when they are having dental work under sedation. It just seems so gruesome. Unfortunately, Harrison seems to have inherited a mouth that is going to need constant care and frequent checking in on. Daddy took him to get his cavity filled. About 30 minutes after they left he called to say infection had set in and they would now be pulling the tooth.
Thankfully, family was at the house, so I was able to get there too. Whewee. It was tough to watch.
But Harrison did well and and as soon as he woke up, he asked for his "toy please" aka the treat off the cart.
He woke up enough to drink something so we could leave and then I took him to get a milkshake. He took a few sips and then he was OUT again.
We got home and he slept until 1 in the afternoon. During that time, I realized a visit from the tooth fairy was in order.
:) he loved it!! And that's the story of our first "missing tooth" and visit from the tooth fairy. I wasn't quite ready for this milestone, but that seems to be par for the course with this Mama gig!
