I was having one of those days a few weeks ago. The kind where you think, If I could just get one good day without kids around, I sure could get a lot done. I had been juggling work(part time), school parties, teacher gifts, therapies, etc and was just feeling like some things, especially house things, were out of control. That is how I feel 75% of of the time but I wanted to get things in order before Christmas. I text Grammy, Brandon’s mom, and just asked if there was any day in the future the kids…ALL 3, could come spend the night. What do you know, she offered that Friday. I got to packing their bag We love our kids. We love them a lot. But we sure appreciated a breather.
Grammy got the kids Friday afternoon and we went out to dinner, finished up Christmas shopping, and went to a late movie(11pm late…we are so crazy )
The next morning we slept in! Then, got up and cleaned for 8 hours. I whirled from one end of the house to the other. Trying hard to get so much done so that I didn’t have to worry about that over Christmas. We left in time to pick up a special purchase from a ToysRUs in a different town and then to pick up the kids. We didn’t get to them until 8pm.
We stopped at one of our favorite places on the way home. They have lights covering their farm and you drive through. The kids LOVED it.
As soon as we rolled down the window, Greer waved like a mad man at Santa.
It wasn’t too long after we pulled out of there that we turned around to find this. Grammy and GDaddy tuckered them out!
