On the Road!

Warning...typos present! I typed this late and on my IPhone...when I came to edit this in blogger on my phone it was too tedious ;) The kids and I headed out of town last week with 2 weeks worth of road tripping ahead of us! The first stop was Florida to see my grandmother and aunts! But not before we added a little more adventure to our plans :)

My dad was running late(he was riding this leg with us). I decided to stop at a walkin clinic on our way out of town to verify what my week long sore throat was. I havent been to a doctor since starting the adoption process over 1.5 years ago. I almost brushed it off as allergies. I ended up being glad I went. It was strep. I grabbed an antibiotic and hit the road (they said I was no longer contagious and the kids would have gotten it already if they were going to.)

The kids ROCKED the 1st 5 hours of the 9 hour ride!

At the 5 hour mark, just as everyone was drifting off for the night, our car decided to do the same. So, we made the best of our 12 hour detour for a new alternator! We found a hotel...

With continental breakfast...

And a pool...

And there is much more to the crazy story that I might share another time! The kids were champs through it all and absolutely thought every part of the detour from the cab ride, hotel room, pool, and breakfast was part of the plan and ALL for them!! :)

Once we arrived in Florida,we had no agenda really. It was a great time of just visiting!! Lotsa sleeping in, nowhere to be, family time, eating, and swimming.

In Harrison's defense, Sophie asked for a drink and she asked for more after this!!

Thursday morning, I packed us all up to head out for the next 10 hour leg of our trip! That would include my secret weapon, these travel busy bags...

Which resulted in really smooth sailing traveling all that way with 3 kids 3 and under...

This time we were headed to, Jackson, MS, the home of a very special lady who is celebrating 100 years of life this weekend! Brandon's, great grandmother just turned 100. My little sis(who was in Florida visiting too) was my copilot this time!

We made a few necessary stops...

And then we were reunited with our Daddy!! Everyone was happy...

The kids quickly showed them what they had learned about getting around a hotel during our impromptu hotel stay just a few days earlier! It was late when we arrived. We got up early this morning for breakfast and swimming ...

And IPad movie watching...

Then it was a quick trip around the corner to meet an adoptive family, with a sweet girl from Korea for lunch.

To my surprise, I met another bloggy adoptive Mama friend while there. Alison and I (http://lovinmuch.blogspot.com/ ) recognized one another from our blogs! It was too much fun!!

After naps at the hotel, we enjoyed family time at Brandon's grandparents!

And now, after a long and fun filled day,

Sophie says its time for bed so we can celebrate great grandma Doris tomorrow!!

Afterwards, we will be heading to the final destination on our road trip and we can NOT wait! More fun to be shared soon!!
