Birthday Funday!

We celebrated Sophie and Greer turning 2 family style last week!

The party is still to come. We love to have a fun day on their actual birthday to celebrate that child... Or in the twins case, the two children ;)

Greer and I headed out early that morning for his 2 hours of Thursday therapy and came back with his first present...

We finally got the stander adjusted enough for us to bring home! Out little squirt needed a step stool!
Once home, I made a super fancy ;) birthday brunch

and daddy came home for lunch so he could enjoy it with us!

The kids went down for naps...

And I worked on the cake! I got it cooked and cooled only to find this after getting the icing container out of the cabinet...

That cake never did get iced!!

Daddy came home for the day and we headed to spend the evening with Chuckee...

And Grammy and Gdaddy....

The kids had blast! Thanks to the grandparents, Sophie is all set for swimming...

And Greer for playing ball...
And watching Mickey!

Harrison didn't think the birthday celebration was a bad idea!

Sophie might have 2nd guessed that thought when Chuckee got too close...

Afterwards, we got birthday ice cream in place of the uniced cake.

We are now super proud, blessed, and thankful parents to twins 2yr olds! Who would have thought?

Don't think the day passed by without us thinking about the twins loving foster family.

I know that it was a hard day for them. I don't know that words can describe the love they have for Sophie and Greer. All I know is they were heavens sent for the 20 months the twins needed them so desperately.

And then their birth parents. I can't imagine the memories that came flooding back from the day that our sweet Sophie and Greer entered this world. A traumatic birth that created some tough circumstances that led to life changing decisions for them and their children. I can hardly imagine.

I just pray that the Lord will continue to give us the strength, wisdom, and endurance to love and raise the blessings entrusted to us in a such a way that would bring the foster parents great joy and the birth parents some confidence in their decision.

Happy happy birthday to our sweet fighter Greer and our spunky Sophie girl!
