I walked out to my car around 11am. I was on my way to get Brandon and we were taking treats to celebrate Harrison with his preschool class. I started the car and then looked down and my thumb happened to swipe across the front of my phone because that is pretty much where it always is these days. I then realized the 541 area code was on the screen and I had accidentally swiped the screen open and unknowingly answered a call from our agency. While I was expecting it any time, I didn’t get that moment to pause and anticipate my answering but I quickly made sure I hadn’t disconnected the call.
It was Lisa from our agency and she said she was about to make my day even better!! I squealed and she shared the details of travel with us because as she put it…”the twins are ready.”
It was my job to then get off the phone and book plane tickets and put together an itinerary for our trip that I hoped to get approved by the staff in Korea. First, I paused to take in the moments of delivering cupcakes to Harrison’s class and celebrating him.
I decided to take Harrison from preschool early since I was there. That would mean I could get him home and down for a nap and then I could settle into my command post with my laptop and phone figuring our travel details. On the way, I decided to call a travel agent that many with our agency use for a fee of $100. I thought I would just share what we were looking for in terms of flights and see what they could come up with. I didn’t have to use them if it was not in line with what we could find online ourselves!! The good thing is, they found us a better deal and can reserve lap tickets and bulkhead on the way back! So, I called and left them a voicemail with our specifics. They called back and said they would email me some options.
I went on home to get Harrison settled in. To stay true to his normal…he could sense something was up and it took me a little over an hour to get him down for his nap…but he HAD to take a nap. Once he was down, I used the following 3 hours to float between the travel agent, my inlaws(they are coming with), Brandon, and the internet. I really did feel like this…
once I knew things were working out.
Right as we were walking into dinner, I was able to book the flights we had held for a couple hours (only 4 seats left on the plane with the best price we’ve seen in weeks….yay God!)
So…drum roll please….the flight details are:
Leaving Friday, November 18th at 6:06am and returning Friday, November 25th at NOON !!
We are waiting on confirmation from Korea for the remainder of the details. We should get those tomorrow and I’ll share!! We plan to post from Korea each day! The countdown is on!!
