Whirling…

First, we want to THANK YOU all for your genuine sharing of our joy! It still feels surreal. The Lord has certainly shaped us in new and different ways from the place we started when were newbies in the adoption world. He has opened our eyes and hearts to things we weren’t tuned into initially.

My mind is whirling! As we jump feet first into this process, I can’t help but try and get all of our ducks in a row. I made a to-do list pages long. I went room by room and listed all that needs to be done in each. I plan to try and simplify things around here…i.e. get rid of as much as possible and make every space as functional as possible! Less is more when you are a soon to have 3 under 3 (maybe even 3 under 2 for a little bit of time) toddling around!

Our agency is quoting 6-8 months to travel. If we watch others timelines it looks like those with our agency are travelling in 5-7 months!  One comfort that my mommy heart has is that our children are with a seasoned foster family! While, it’s not us, we know the twins know the comfort of a family. We have no doubt that their transition will be much harder than Harrison’s (he folded into our family unbelievably well) because we will literally be taking them from the only “mommy” and “daddy” they’ve ever known. We hope we’re wrong in this assumption, but it’s pretty safe to say that this will be very hard on our babies!

We’ve been busy filling out adoption grant paperwork (pray with us FOR these!), getting our home study revisions complete, and working on preparing ourselves to love these babies right into our family! Here are some books we’ve ordered…
Once our home study revisions have been approved by our agency, we will be able to turn in our acceptance paperwork and THEN we will be able to share the twins precious faces with you! What fun! We’ll share names then too! Stay tuned! It looks like it will be a week or two before this is all done!

If you guys are curious about anything and have questions, please ask! I’ll be happy to answer them!

Oh Yes, and while I was taking care of the adoption books on Am@zon I got this for us too..

So excited for you! I also read "Raising Happiness". It was OK. I didn't really get too much new out of it. It was very similiar to my "relax", "have fun while learning and growing" parenting style already..but it was good confirmation that I am on the right track.

Of course, it didn't cover how to make Janie "happy" when she is standing in the middle of the room having a MELT DOWN because she was made to share with her sister. ha, ha, ha

Right now everything is MINE! If Janie says something and Lexie repeats it, Janie even says "no my ____" and inserts whatever word she just said. Poor Lexie, she can't even have words :) Oh I just keep reminding myself that hopefully this phase will pass soon....or it may be a glimpse of the future. Arguements over toys now may later become clothes, make up, jewelry, etc...oh well.

Anyways, I've rambled. So happy for you, Brandon, and Harrison! Can't wait to continue following the journey!!! So excited for you!

Oh April....I am SO THRILLED! Ever since you emailed me, I've just been praying that God's will would become clear to y'all. I also am so blessed that I know the family that will bring these twins home! They are so special. Email me--I'd love to keep in touch! We're adopting our son from South Korea, and we should travel in August or so. Praying for y'all always!!
