Blessings 2&3 {Part 3- Redirection}

In case you missed it… {Part 1 & Part 2}
You all might just be wondering where the twins are from!? Yet again, the Lord has redirected our steps…

Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He’ll make your path straights. Proverbs 3:6
Upon getting their file for review, we prayed, reviewed their file, prayed, asked additional questions, prayed, requested/waited 3 weeks on video (well worth the wait considering we ended up with about 15 of them), prayed, got the video, prayed, waited a little over one more week to have additional doctors/specialists review the video and give input, prayed, had many parental pow wows talking through best and worst case scenarios, and prayed some more.

The twins had been waiting to be matched with a family since October of 2010. Their files had a list of medical terms/special needs that we had to weed through (each twin with a need or two specific to themselves). Many of them were things they had endured early on and are no longer applicable. There are a few details with effects that are still "to be determined." We will be keeping a majority of these details private. Our hope and prayer is that this will help others to focus their energies on loving them for who they are and what they can do rather than what needs may or may not arise. Don't worry though, Brandon and I have fully committed to loving them fiercly NO.MATTER.WHAT.

Through processing all of the above, we felt the Lord confirming a decision and calling us to follow the open door.

On Monday April 11th, we called the agency first thing and let them know that we would like to pursue the adoption of these precious blessing! Oh, but wait...you didn't think it was THAT easy did you?

To Be Continued…

*FYI- we’ve already had several people make comments insinuating their relief that we’re not adopting from Africa. As much as I know adoption is not the “norm” and people have a hard time relating to our hearts for adoption and  truly understanding the fact that race plays NO part in our decision making, those type of comments are VERY disheartening to us and quite frankly, unwelcome.*

I'm a little behind but just read back through to catch up. I am SO excited for you! Twins?! God is SO good - a double portion of His goodness! Are they identical? Can you tell us the genders? Maybe I missed that - I'll look back and see.

I'm so excited for you. :)

Oh I just love it and can't wait to read more about your sweet twins! I love seeing God do crazy things in adoption to guide people to their specific children!!

(and as an African adoption mama, thank you for your ending. I'm sorry people have made negative comments because I am SURE that no matter where these two littles were in the world that you and Brandon would have done whatever to get them home. I think my new phrase for adoption is whoever, however, wherever. When God says they are yours, they are yours. All children should have families. ALL CHILDREN. and I am thankful for awesome families like yours and the countless others that truly believe that)
