In case you missed Part 1 - Find it HERE!
For a few weeks or so, I enjoyed Mary Leigh's blog and her postings on F@cebook.
On the evening of February 28th, I was thinking out loud and I posted a status update on FB referencing the uneasiness I was developing related to the Ethiopian program as well as our agencies specific delays with that program. I also mentioned in my status update that we were researching Ugandan adoptions some more. I had been emailing back and forth with Laura, from The Farmer's Wife Tells All. She and her husband had recently made the decision to make the switch to adopt from Uganda and I was interested in what she was finding in doing so.
Later on that evening, MaryLeigh replied to me on that status that she knew of some waiting children in a program with her agency. We went round and round for a bit. I said, "We feel led to adopt siblings this time around." She said, "They are siblings." I said, "We checked with your agency before and they don't allow families to adopt out of birth order." She said, "Well, they are TWINS!!!! almost 1 year olds TWINS " From there, I went to the site where I would see their precious faces for the very first time, and thus began a 2 month long journey for Brandon and I where we would be lead to decide whether or not the Lord was calling us to adopt the twinkies or if He was calling us to help find the family that would! We certainly knew that we were called to do more than just look at their waiting profile and "pass!"
This is the verse the Lord continually brought before us throughout that process...
~He must become greater, I must become less. John 3:30~
