Setting his sights...
Going...
Almost all the way...
Sweet Success!!!
Harrison has done considerably well with the yuckiness he's had to deal with. He has wanted to be held more...or he may have just figured us out by now...he squeaks=we run!! This is the "get me outta here" face...
& this is the "I'm worn out face."
Here is how it went down... I was talking with a friend about Harrison's breathing treatments. He has done well enough with them, but we're always looking for suggestions on how to make it even easier because we're figuring this Praise Baby DVD kick isn't going to last much longer. My friend mentioned that when her daughter took them, they would wait for her to be deep asleep and do it then. She never suggested that I do this she just mentioned her experiences in passing. Well, I told Brandon about it and we thought...why not? Harrison let us know quickly why not!!! It was the beginning of the end of our sleep lastnight. Harrison was horrified as he awoke to the nebulizer in his crib, on his face, and making the loud noise!! He screamed and we stopped. He settled down but every time we would get him back to sleep he would wake up within minutes screaming the horrified teary scream. This lasted until 3am and he settled down but awoke within the hour for another 30 minute fit of devastation. He finally was down for the count at 4:30. It was definitely one of those experiencs when you think about how much those Negative Nelly's (the ones that try and prepare you for the downsides of parenthood) would enjoy being a fly on our wall at the moment!! We were worried at a few times that it was more than the nebulizer, and truly felt a little panicky about his well being! I am thinking it would be nice to have a diagnostic computer to hook up to him to see what the true source of the problem is!!! When he woke up at 11 this morning he was all better. His breathing even sounded considerably better so it might have been worth it for that. We will go back to the doctor in the morning to get a re-check. His lungs still sound a little raspy so I am interested to see what we are to do next!
This is Harrison upon waking up and after having breakfast at lunch time.
For those who might be concerned, he does have his little safety straps on. He just likes to reach onto the table so I let him instead of using the tray! This morning he enjoyed propping his foot up on the table over and over when he was done!! He is too funny and absolutely adorable and the apple of my eye and camera lense!!
Here are some other things we've been working on during our "down time" :o)
Brandon's dad reminded us of the Elf on the Shelf kit he got for us about 2 Christmases ago when we first started the adoption process! We know Harrison might not really "get" it...but maybe it will be slightly familiar next year. Plus, we're all about some family traditions and Harrison gets to be the one to go through them all first!! We went ahead and got it out, read the story, and gave Harrison the chance to help choose the name of our Elf!
First we got the kit out...
We read the book and then made sure to follow the instructions and choose a name for our elf. Brandon picked 3 names and I picked 3 names. We put them on post-its...
We folded them up and put them in a big pile hoping it would catch Harrison's eye..
It didn't take long before he made the selection...
Our families elf for years to come shall be...
We made it official on the last page of our Elf on the Shelf book...
Harrison and the beginning of his break dancing skills...He loves to do this..
I saw Harrison doing this for the first time the other night through the video monitor.
Crawling warm-ups...
Our letter for learning in 2009 is....
Harrison has a few favorite things around the house...
It started with Mommy showing him to how to go to town on the "keyboard."
He can also stand on his own. I put a mirror behind this stand-up musical toy and he really enjoys playing on it while watching himself in the mirror. He can stay standing on his own for a good bit too!!
He also says Da Da Da Da...LOTs and LOTS!! He doesn't quite get that this fits with his Daddy...but we do direct him to him quite a bit when he says it!!
It's a fun little adventure that we're on right now!! Every day is something new and fun!!

What a sweet face and such a blessing! I love seeing all the new pictures and hearing updates.
I absolutely love his outfits! Well, pj's, correct? He's adorable! And growing!! It broke my heart to hear that he woke up startled! Poor thing, must've scared the living day lights out of him! Aww, punkin! :) Can't wait to meet him-hopefully January! Love you, Mommy! ;)
April, I just love reading about our Harrison the Great. Thank you again for letting us into your home and be apart of his life.
I'm with him, you better not mess with me when I'm sleeping. I've been wondering what that little guy was up to and it looks like he has been busy. I'm telling you, he's going to be my piano player. Gary says he'll arrange to have mine moved to your house. See you Sunday.
You are such an amazing mommy to your little guy :)! He looks so incredibly happy and at peace in all of his pics.
Love the one of him jamming on the little piano!
I loved reading this post and seeing all the great pictures, April!! He is such a happy boy, and you are such a wonderful Mommy. Hooray for crawling and standing!! Goooooooo, Harrison!!!
Loved seeing you two today and would love to get together again whenever you'd like :) I wish we lived closer!

I am so loving reading every new entry about Harrison! I love the wonder & discovery for him....and you! Wish I could be there to squeeze him. What a cutie!
He is soooo sweet April. Glad he is starting to feel better. You will be glad you have your Elf Sawyer later on. Our elf Fred has worked his wonders on Matthew and Marli this Christmas season, though they remind Greg and I that Fred is watching us all the time as well !!!
