Craftin' when I should be Nappin'

I cracked myself up with that title. Hey!...after 600ish posts..you gotta be more original!! The title says it though.

Today was my first day to start going back into the office some (4-6hours 4 days through the week) WITH Harrison! I didn't take 6 weeks totally off, but we aren't leaving Harrison with anyone until we start transitioning him in January. I have a very flexible work environment and my office is set apart from the majority of the other church staff! My Dad did come today to watch Harrison down the hall from me for about 1.5 hours while I was in staff meeting. Harrison did great! The rest of the time, Harrison napped, watched Praise Baby, played in his pac-n-play and before we knew it, it was time to leave! I did play with him and tend to his needs as well, but he did great letting me get my office re-organized, some January materials ordered, and do some leader emailing! He is such a champ! I'm not going to say it was SUPER convenient (I am finding a mothers heart is OFTEN a conflicted one), but it was better than I expected and I do know that we both aren't ready to leave each other yet! I also have Fridays off and we have 5 days off at Christmas and at the New Year!

So...back to the title! As bad as I wanted to take a nap while Harrison did this afternoon and as much as I should be sleeping right now, I WANT to take care of his birthday details MORE! We are excited about this. It is as much a celebration of his homecoming as it is his birth!! We have so much to celebrate. One hard part was keeping the guest list limited. There are SOOO many people we would love to have, but we it would just be too much for Harrison...the budget...etc! We still ended up with 40-50ish counting kids and adults I believe and half of that is family! It is a carnival/circus theme! I have had a BLAST working on the details. Since mid October when it was looking SOOOO good to have Harrison home by his birthday, I have grabbed things here and there to lighten the financial impact now! I think it's helped!! Hobby Lobby has a section with carnival/circus themed items...yay! I have a few more things to do this week like get the food, get the cupcakes ordered, and a few other small details, but for the most part..it's coming together! AND a SWEET bloggy friend emailed me today to let me know that she had a little red/white tent thing that another friend let her borrow for her sons circus themed adoption finalization celebration!!! She said she had been waiting to find someone to give it away to!! I was so happy to get that email and felt so very blessed to get the offer Mandi!! Soo...here is your sneak peak...
Here is the invite I paid $12.00 for the digital file for on Etsy and got to print as many as I wanted!
