This morning Brandon and Harrison took their run to McDonalds together while I turbo-packed all of our stuff back up! Our hotel in Taitung provided complimentary McDonalds breakfast. We liked that a lot! Before leaving...
After returning...
Then we went and took care of one next to last detail for the adoption here...
We then took a visit to the hospital where Harrison spent his time in the NICU...They were some sweet people. They wanted pictures of Harrison who they called "Goo Dee Jen" because that was the way you pronounced his name before we took some and left some for his name in our family. It was so sweet because they all remembered him. One lady stopped and told the baby home coordinator that we were with that she "heard Harrison's parents were coming" The coordinator pointed to us and the nurse said..."Ohh, that's Harrison? He has hair!!" It was too funny!! They wanted to take pictures of US!!! hahah! You could tell they love the babies!
Harrison also had some physical therapy to help with some tight muscles in one side of his neck. We visited the area of the hospital where he went for this. When we walked in, they were doing to another baby what they said they did to Harrison. That baby was doing what they said Harrison did (screaming). I am thankful to the Lord that this issue was resolved before we came :o) I would have been crying harder.
This is the social worker who called the baby home coordinator once Harrison's birth mom made the decision to place him. This is another very important person that the Lord used in uniting our family! Lots of other choices could have been made. They told us that Harrison was expected not to make it. They were just maintaining things for him. But...he lived up to his Chinese middle name and he was and is a very strong little boy and he is definitely thriving!!
Then we headed to the airport to catch a 1 hour flight back to Taipei.
Here is a funny story!! We met this (apparently) famous guy while waiting to fly TO Taitung. His name is Kimbo and supposedly he is a famous country music singer who has won lots of awards in Taiwan. We showed him pictures of Harrison on the way to Taitung and he happened to be catching the same flight BACK today. He got to see Harrison and we took a picture with him!! haha!
Once we got back to Taipei, we decided to take it easy for tonight. Poor Harrison, his schedule has been all kinds of crazy!! I think the down time did him some good!
He had a nice bath and giggled in his towel a bit...
Then we tested the Praise Baby DVD (a dvd that has worship music playing in the background while showing big things on the screen like balls, fruit, bubbles, flowers, butterflies...etc) He was totally sucked in. This is a back-up plan for the plane ride returning! 19 hours is a long time, but after this week...we're feeling pretty pumped about it!!
As we have tangably put all of the pieces of Harrison's journey to us and us to him together, we will NEVER forget that our GREAT God has a plan for HIS "Harrison the great!" It has been an incredible journey of joy, thanksgiving, and the realization of God's hand again and again. The GREAT part is, we still have a LONG time to see God at work in our beautiful and strong son's life!!
