Towel aside, Brandon has done a fabulous job of loving Harrison right along with me (not that I expected any less...I am OVERLY confident in his fathering abilities :o)...with everything he has in him, and I, with everything I have in me.
We meet his every need ASAP! We have had small bumps in the feeding process and go figure that that's the only thing that can make him cry. & that's pretty much a scream. The first time he did it, it was after he was coughing while drinking. I took the bottle out and could not believe that scream came out of our little guy!! My response after putting it back in was giggling. The sound of his VERY IRRITATED cry was enough for me to take note!! He sounds like a little piglet most of the time sucking his bottle. When he gets about half way through he worked SO hard to drink it that his breathing (a little raspy still) sounds like he is whispering Hii-yah! (like a karate chop)
Anywho..the challenges are:
no formula scoop in the formula!! Didn't find this out until i went to prep his midnight bottle. So I just decided to wing it until morning. I am sure there is some genuis conversion I could have done with the oz. on the bottle, but it was late and I was tired. He did not have one problem drinking his bottles. I don't know if it's a Taiwan thing or if we just happened to get a fluke can with no scoop!
After his first bottle, we all stayed up for about an hour. I am sure he would have gone right back down, but all three of us were ready to play! Of course, I took pictures!!
As you could probably guess!! I LOVE these pajamas. I've known for months that these would be his first-nighters!!! He broke them in well with his spit up! I wish I didn't cut his head off!!
He is wonderful ya'll...and I am telling it all!! He had another bottle at 4:30am and went right back down once I held him on my chest, on his blanky, with his paci, and me patting his back for a few minutes.
He'll also stare right into our eyes for very long periods of time. He is CHECKING US OUT....over and over. He'll touch our faces and roll from Brandon to me as he is lying in the bed. We have yet to get a laugh out of him. Several smiles, but not a real laugh! We're determined though!! Co-sleeping went well. We think it is very beneficial at least for this time while we are in hotels anyway. It is highly recommended for bonding and attachment purposes by many and we thought why not give it a shot?? He did great and we slept well. In fact, this is the best sleep I've gotten since being here!!
That's our nightly dish!! Bottom line is: WE LOVE HIM!!! Just as much...possibly even MORE than we anticipated as we began this journey! Stay Tuned!

So cute!!!!
By the way, my can of formula from Taiwan had the scoop way in the bottom.....I used my toothbrush to stir around and found it way in the bottom.....
He's precious!
April I love the pics and Harrison seems to love his new mommy and daddy....don't have much time but wanted to get on and see my new grandson...I love you, brandon and Harrison...
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME.
He is such a handsome little man, too. :)
Precious. I am so happy for ya'll ☺
He is a beautiful baby and you new parents are so wonderful for him! Enjoy the new adventure in your lives. God blesses us all in one way or another!
You don't know me...but I am so happy for you guys. My husband and I went through many of the same emotions and "firsts" with our son who we adopted from Guatemala three and half years ago when he was 6 months old. You go ahead and co-sleep (without guilt) while you are there. Bed time can be a very scary time for newly adopted babies and he needs you to be where he can smell, touch and see you at all times.
I am seriously sitting here at my desk boohoo'ing. Beautiful posts! I had to play catch up reading yesterday's and today's posts. I wish I could be there to play photographer for you while you play with and get to know your son! One day I'll come to your hometown & meet you guys! Or you can come to TX for a visit. :)
Nice to know you will be keeping him. Ha. Loved your table tonight, but glad you were there getting Harrison.
He's precious. I am thinking back to last year, very close to this time, when we flew to VN to pick up our Henry. It is the best of times...enjoy every moment and know that you will remember every detail very well. Congratulations, again! You have a beautiful family.
He is beautiful! I love looking at your pictures! I am SO excited for you three to finally have each other :)
I just found your blog, and I love it! :) So excited for you all. Was wondering where you find such cute baby clothes? Especially love that brown and green blanket. I just love all the bright colors!
