Got Ideas??

We will have a dinner with our marathon training buddies tomorrow evening (1/2 marathon race eve). We'll enjoy LOTS of spaghetti!! I am bringing the dessert. Does anyone have some good ideas?? I make the same few things all the time. I'm looking for something new and OHH So YUMMY!!! You can leave me a link to a recipe or give me ideas in the comments and I'll try and pick one!! I'm not big on things with fruit in it so, I probably won't go in that direction. I'm thinking chocolate!

P.S. please pray for NO rain on Saturday morning. I don't mind getting wet, but I do mind having soggy shoes! That could cause some serious problems!

P.S.S. - I had this WEIRD dream last night and thought I would share maybe someone can see the meaning behind it. Actually, I doubt it. It was the weirdest dream EVER!

Ok..here it is,

I was working in the yard and had piled some dirt (that I had a plan for mind you) in the back yard...next thing I know, 2 scraggly looking men come through my yard with a wheel barrel full of MY dirt. I was telling them to dump it back in my yard please when they started beating me with the shovel they had stolen it with. My neighbor across the street ran outside and fired a gun at the men accidentally hitting me. At this point, the dream jumps to Brandon coming home and me telling him I have a bullet in me but was going to wait to go to the doctor until tomorrow when we had a c-section scheduled. We were going to have a baby girl. I then started panicking because we didn't have any newborn clothing. We only buy (at the smallest) 3-6 months for Marlee. In the dream I was throwing everything out of the closet hoping to find one newborn thing & nothing!! We go to the hospital where they pull out the bullet and then for some reason, I take a pregnancy test and it says I am not pregnant?? & that was the end of the dream. Someone decode that one!

Here is the irony in this dream...

1. Why would I be working the yard 9 months pregnant?
2. What did those men need that dirt for so badly?
3. Does my neighbor have a gun?
4. How could I function with a bullet in me?
5. After sharing this with Brandon this morning, Brandon came to the conclusion that, I would never be 9 months pregnant without clothes for the baby or a bag packed for that matter. If/When I do become pregnant, I plan to have nursery done, bags packed, etc. at the 6 month mark. I have this big fear of going into preterm labor and not having a thing ready!

Here is where I think this dream came from...

-We watched Juno last weekend. (movie about a pregnant teen)
-Our cousins had a baby boy via scheduled c-section yesterday.
-We are planning on doing yard work this afternoon and talked about it yesterday.
-I haven't bought a thing for Marlee in over 2 months and have thought about that the last couple of days and have been looking at what we have in her closet.

Now, is all of that totally crazy or what?

Any form of ooey gooey butter cake is good. On my recipe blog - I think I have at least 2 forms - german chocolate and double chocolate ooey gooey. or look on food network under Paula Deen - that woman can make some desserts!!!

Did you eat pizza or spaghetti last night? I had an extremely bizarre dream the other night, and my co-worker said that if you eat pizza/spaghetti (anything with tomoato sauce/italian), you have CRAZY dreams! Haha!

Belive it or not, that dream sounds normal compared to most of mine!!

OK... desert. Quick, easy, and not too unhealthy (if you buy right)!!

Butterfinger (or any kind of candy bar-my favorite is Reeces cups) Pie

1-12oz tub of whip cream (fat free)
1-8oz cream cheese (fat free)
6 candy bars - your choice
1-9in graham cracker crust

Blend whip cream, cream cheese, and crushed candy bars together and put in crust.

Told you - quick and easy - but oh so yummy!!!

I think all the reasons you said make sense as well as you have had a lot on your mind lately that has made you anxious. All that will cause some crazy dreams. dessert, well I know to many recipes to pick just one. If you want a super easy one, Heath Bar Cake. I can tell ya how to make it if you decide on it.

What about Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie?! Same recipe for Pecan Pie but you throw in some chocolate chips!

First of all, you're crazy:)
Secondly, There is a itty bitty tiny chance that you could go into preterm labor, but we all know that you'll put yourself on bed rest at like 20 weeks so that won't happen. You'll more than likely go over your due date because... well, they are just an estimation.
Thirdly, it was the cheese dip that caused the dream. I had a bizarre one myself. But I wasn't pregnant.
Thank the sweet Lord!

I have been lurking on your blog for quite some time but have never left a message. I couldn't forego leaving you a great dessert recipe idea. But first, my hubby is also running the 1/2 marathon on Saturday. It's his 3rd time. I'll be watching for you at the finish line.

Now...for dessert...how about a chocolate trifle dessert. I do one that uses brownies. Simply prepare a large pan of brownies as directed on the box. Also, prepare two boxes of french vanilla instant pudding as directed. Then layer as follows...crumbled brownies (1/2), vanilla pudding (1/2), cool whip, heath/toffee bits then repeat again (brownie, pudding, cool whip, and heath bits). I have also added chocolate chips. I'm not a big chocolate fan but this is ALWAYS a HUGE hit.

Good luck on Saturday.
