So, our agency is having a Tet celebration this Thursday. You can read more about the Vietnamese New Year celebration, Tet, HERE! Waiting families and completed families will be attending and we are supposed to bring a recipe to share. If you're gonna be there, give me a shout out. If you already know what you're making let me know too so I don't duplicate ;o)
I did find one recipe that I'll be making it is HERE. It is for Banana cake and sounds like something that could be pretty good and pretty easy.
In addition, I am looking to make either a rice recipe, noodle recipe, or something as an appetizer but I need something without crazy ingredients like pork fat or black fungus. Something about those kind of ingredients just don't really tickle my fancy! If you have something....please share! I'm pretty excited about getting to meet some of you face to face and celebrating our children's birth countries!

Hey Guys! We will be at the Tet party too. I don't know what I'm making yet...I will look in my VN cookbook and see what I can find. I will try to post some of the recipes tomorrow...
This is not a comment on the current post but a request. My husband and I are in the process of adopting our 2 week old son. When he was born, my husband's first words to him were Proverbs 9:10. We would like these words made into a plaque of sorts that we could hang on his wall. Our nursery pattern is "Happy Tails" by Lambs and Ivy. I would be glad for you to copy the info..copy away! I will actually try to post more about the new year. I have a Taiwanese friend who is now home in Taiwan preparing for the new year. I have learned a lot from him and would like to share his thoughts and traditions about the holiday. Anyways,I am so excited about the Tet party... I am definitely going to post some recipes tonight (mainly the not-so-difficult ones ;)

We are planning to come Thursday night. I am just not sure what I will be bringing. Last year I struggled with this b/c most of the ingredients do seem kind of gross. I think what I made last year did have fish oil or something weird in it.
The banana cake recipe you found sounds yummy!
With a busy Wednesday night and work on Thursday I may be calling something in for pick up this year.
